Paddleboarding grows in popularity on Lake ChamplainPaddleboarding is a sport that is growing rapidly in popularity in the state of Vermont. I decided to attend a local paddleboard race and report on a trend story. This tricky environment required me to wade out deep into the water to shoot stills and video. After covering the event, I put together a multimedia digital package, consisting of a story, video and photo gallery. The video was one of the top viewed pieces on the Burlington Free Press website for the month of August.

Blog: Vermont-Cuba Baseball ExchangeIn April 2016, I was invited to travel to Havana, Cuba to document the first U.S. youth baseball exchange with the island nation since the embargo. I produced a blog with photos and writing which has reached over 50,000 views, and was followed by Sen. Patrick Leahy. Despite the challenges of limited internet access, I managed to provide a detailed daily update for people following the team's journey.

Live Coverage: Contract negotiations school board meetingAfter months of heated contract negotiations in the Burlington School District, I attended a meeting where the school board voted to impose a contract on teachers, which could potentially lead to a strike. I covered the meeting live via social media, and was the main source of updates for the Burlington community. In addition to my article in print and online, I compiled a storify recap of the meeting, interweaving my updates along with reactions from the community.
